I meant to ask; Because I'm a shop owner who has barbers (who aren’t in the truth) paying me booth rent, they work saturdays which is a busy day for almost all barbers. The word says not to have any servants work on sabbath either. They pay me rent so they arent slaves or employees. I cant force them to take off for religious beliefs in this country . Is this reason enough to seperate myself from them and shut down the shop and work by myself on the 6 allowed days? Or would that be going too far because we cant fulfill every law in the land of captivity? Does them working on saturdays fall on me. I didnt have understanding about the sabbath when i resigned the lease
You have to remember one thing brother, we are still living in the land of our captivity. Sometimes we have to do the best we can with what we have to work with because it's nearly impossible to keep all the laws in the United States. The Most High sees your heart and knows that you want to do what is right and that I feel is enough. Now maybe you can shut the shop down on Saturdays and make up a different reason (lie so to speak) and keep the shop open Sunday through Friday. And if that's not possible then my advice is to pray over it and keep the Sabbath in your heart.
Thank you for your comment
Just remember that today in our land of captivity we can still make many choices - we shouldn't stick to the point that we are still being physically enslaved like we were before in chains and were brutally killed and beaten every single day, although the most High is obviously still collecting payment for sin, he is still showing much mercy to us today. Although some of the beating and killing still does continue to happen today, we must now note that more than everything else in the world, we are in a war with the mind - and that today, in the latter days, we must choose righteously instead of evil, and remember that the most High made both good and evil - for us to choose (2 Esdras 2:14, Ecclesiaticus 39:25) which comes about by educating ourselves with the wisdom of the most High.
So, with that being said, if I was in your situation, I would go with choosing another alternative for your business. In a situation like this one you can still choose your outcome. A great example of this is that growing up I wanted to really join the military and have it as a job and a career in my life - however, with thousands of other alternatives for a career being available other than being in sin with the military - I chose something else that would elminate the military as a choice for me.
So, see if you can have other alternatives for you to continue your business that does not revolve around leasing nor renting. Please remember that renting/leasing is not with the most High. Look upon these verses Psalms 4:2 - "O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah." Psalms 5:6 - "Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man." Jeremiah 22:13 - "Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong: that useth his neighbor's serivce without wages, and giveth him not for his work;". Remember that when an owner rents out their property to a person, in reality the owner is getting rich without paying for much of anything, and is wrongfully profitting off the labor of the people paying. This is why the most High states to own and not to rent.
Therefore, Renting/leasing is not righteous in the eyes of the most High and He hates it because it makes the owner of the property rich without any actual rightoues / fruitful labour being done. Remember that the heathen loves to rent out to people for great profit, and the most High states that we must separate and not follow the ways of the heathen (1 Esdras 9:9 - "And do His will, and separate yourselves from the heathen of the land, and from the strange women").
Brother the passages you mention above are not about renting or leasing of property or land to anyone. In Psalms 4:2 and Psalms 5:6 is refering to being deceitful and false.
Strongs - Hebrew Dictionary:
כָּזָב
kâzâb
kaw-zawb'
From H3576; falsehood; literally (untruth) or figuratively (idol): - deceitful, false, leasing, + liar, lie, lying.
Furthermore the passage in Jeremiah is not about not paying persons for thier work, but is a warning to the sons of King Josiah who stole the throne from their father and took him captive, only to then deprive him of basic needs such as food and water, TMH sends Jeremiah to them to let them know that their treatment of their prisoner (father) is not righteous and that he will exact his revenge upon them for being cruel. The word for service here is defined in Strong's as:
עָבַד
‛âbad
aw-bad'
A primitive root; to work (in any sense); by implication to serve, till, (causatively) enslave, etc.: - X be, keep in bondage, be bondmen, bond-service, compel, do, dress, ear, execute, + husbandman, keep, labour (-ing man), bring to pass, (cause to, make to) serve (-ing, self), (be, become) servant (-s), do (use) service, till (-er), transgress [from margin], (set a) work, be wrought, worshipper.
Owners of businesses such as barber shops are not enslaving their workers in the sense which you mean, as each barber is a business owner in his own right, and he is paying the shop owner for the space in which to ply their trade, which is most times is a small tribute which helps everyone in the facility keep the utilities needed to run their business going in comparison to the cost of paying rents to a landlord which is basic commerce.
I appreciate your input but I'm not sure if you noticed exactly what you stated about the verses I selected - you stated that in fact they relate to "being deceitful and false" - that the verses do not pertain to leasing nor rent but that is exactly what leasing / renting is today (deceitful/false). Being a landlord dates back to when the Europeans had a system called the "European Feudalism" research it and you're in for a shocker, believe me - you'll see immediately how it is literally relate-able to our society today and why we must separate from renting/leasing/being landlords. So, if our people practice being landlords today it doesn't sound right either way. There is no way the most High is okay with leasing or renting. Again, as you stated, it is being deceitful and false.
Just look at many of our people today, we don't own anything - renting and leasing property from our enemies that have oppressed us for centuries (a house, car, machines, etc.) is an evil thing that stemmed from the Europeans. No one will ever be able to own anything by leasing or renting, there is no way that the most High is okay with that.
If you think about it, it is in a sense being enslaved to a payment. Renting / leasing does not promote prosperity for businesses or for anyone for that matter because your rent payments will never make it YOURS. Another thing, I obviously do not know if you ever rented/leased, but one must also pay the utilities in most cases, it is just not right, we must separate from the landlord doctrine and simply pursue to owning our properties. Owning is a righteous thing with the most High, to be able to call it yours. Therefore, renting/leasing instead of owning your property turns the most High's GLORY into SHAME, as the verse states. Just how tap water, many of our foods today, and everything else that the most High has stated and made perfect - is tampered with and turned into shame.
In addition, if you ever take a look into those "lease contracts" that MUST be signed, you will find many unjust / unrighteous things that must be followed within the stated contract. I am absolutely positive that the most High would hate to see His children never owning anything. Renting/leasing is wickedness. Landlords get richer off somebody else's hard working labor and sweat.
Also, think about it, how can we pass things down to our children and heritage/generations by leasing/renting? It's impossible - if we were to continue paying rent/leasing forever, we would never own anything and make those landlord's pockets richer for generations when they didn't even work the land or anything to obtain that wealth righteously while we would continue in the cycle of never owning anything.
Again brother or sis, thank you for your input and shalom.
